As part of the build-out of its commercial organisation, VistIQ is hiring a Founding Business Development & Customer Success Lead. Reporting directly to the CEO, you own the relationship with investment firms across the full cycle, from winning new clients to deploying and growing existing accounts.
This is a founding role. You define the commercial methods, tools and processes that will serve as the foundation for the hires that follow.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business development
▪ Define and qualify the target account base: venture capital and private equity firms, asset managers and family offices, in France first, then across Europe
▪ Build and manage the commercial pipeline: direct outreach, professional network, industry events and conferences (IPEM, SuperReturn, 0100)
▪ Develop a referral network: LPs, advisors, fund administrators, placement agents, industry associations
▪ Contribute to positioning, commercial messaging and pricing policy, in close collaboration with the CEO
Sales cycle
▪ Own the full sales cycle, from first contact to signed contract
▪ Run product demonstrations with investment teams, finance functions and operations leads
▪ Structure and manage evaluation phases and design partnerships
▪ Negotiate contractual terms, with support from the CEO on strategic accounts
Client deployment and onboarding
▪ Lead the deployment of the platform at each new client: migration of portfolio history, connection of data sources and existing tools, configuration
▪ Train user teams and support ramp-up across the firm
▪ Ensure deployment milestones are met and migrated data is accurate
▪ Coordinate the product and engineering teams on requirements identified during deployment
Account management and growth
▪ Act as the primary point of contact for clients: requests, incidents, change management
▪ Monitor usage and adoption metrics on an account-by-account basis
▪ Run periodic business reviews with the leadership teams of client firms
▪ Prepare renewals and identify expansion opportunities: additional vehicles, additional teams, additional modules
Product contribution and reporting
▪ Feed client needs, objections and market signals back to the product team
▪ Contribute to commercial assets: presentations, documentation, use cases, client references
▪ Set up and maintain the CRM
▪ Report on commercial activity to the CEO on a weekly basis
CANDIDATE PROFILE
▪ Higher education degree and 3 to 6 years of experience gained primarily in private equity: an investment firm, an asset manager, a family office, a fund administrator, a placement agent, or a software or data provider serving investors
▪ Working knowledge of fund mechanics: capital calls, valuation, IRR, TVPI and DPI, LP reporting, investment committees, portfolio documentation
▪ Experience in commercial relationships or account management with partner-level, CFO or investment director counterparts
▪ Experience with a portfolio management, reporting or data platform serving funds (eFront, Chronograph, Affinity, DealCloud, Carta, Preqin) is an advantage
▪ Fluent English, written and spoken, is required. Fluent French is required for the Paris market
SKILLS
▪ Daily use of AI tools in professional practice: research, meeting preparation, tailored outreach, pipeline management. This is how the company operates
▪ Comfort engaging senior counterparts and holding a substantive conversation on investment matters
▪ Execution discipline and autonomy: the role sits in an organisation still being built, with no established processes
▪ Comfort with data: pipeline tracking, forecasting, rigorous CRM management
▪ Understanding of technical topics (APIs, integrations, AI-based products), without development expertise being required
▪ Strong written and presentation skills, in English and French

A fund today operates in a world saturated with information and brutally competitive. The difference is no longer access to information. Everyone has it. The difference is a team's ability to focus on what matters: companies, decisions, relationships.
VistIQ is your fund's memory, and a team of AI agents working for you 24/7.
We took the workflows of the investment business one by one and automated them. Every source and every tool is connected: email, drive, data rooms, CRM, existing systems, external signals. Manual tasks disappear, and with them the errors they produce. On top, we build an intelligence layer and a collective memory: everything the fund receives, analyzes and decides is structured there, and stays. That memory is an asset of the management company. It does not leave when people leave, it compounds every quarter, and it cannot be rebuilt later.
Concretely:
We don't replace anyone. We augment everyone.
