Title and seniority may be adapted depending on the successful candidate’s background and experience.
We are looking for a Senior Sales Manager to accelerate Metroscope’s growth in the power generation market, developing new customers while growing our position within some of the world’s leading utilities and power generation companies.
This is a senior, high-impact role operating at the intersection of business development, power generation, technology and complex enterprise sales.
And we are deliberately open-minded about what the right background looks like.
You may already be an experienced enterprise sales professional selling complex technical solutions. Or you may have built your career much closer to the assets themselves — in power plant operations, performance, maintenance, reliability, engineering, OEM services or technical consulting — and now want to move into a commercial role.
What matters most is your ability to understand complex industrial environments, build credibility with customers, develop opportunities and progressively take ownership of sophisticated sales cycles.
For candidates coming from a technical background, previous sales experience is not mandatory. We are prepared to invest in developing the commercial methodology of someone who brings strong industry expertise, seniority, customer orientation and a genuine ambition to learn the craft of enterprise sales.
Conversely, experienced sales professionals do not need to arrive as power-generation experts, but must demonstrate the curiosity and learning agility required to become credible with highly technical customers.
📌 Reporting to: Chief Revenue Officer
📍 Location: Paris or remote in France, with regular customer travel
You will own the development of a portfolio of power-generation accounts and prospects, with responsibility for creating pipeline, winning new business and developing long-term customer relationships.
Metroscope operates in a technically demanding environment. Our customers include utilities and power producers operating nuclear and thermal power plants, and our solutions are used by teams working across performance, operations, maintenance, reliability, engineering and digital.
Your role is therefore not simply to “sell software”.
You will need to understand how customers operate their assets, identify where Metroscope can create measurable value, build the right internal coalition and convert technical opportunities into commercial decisions.
Develop and execute the commercial strategy for your assigned accounts, prospects and territory.
Identify and engage new utilities, power producers and relevant stakeholders.
Build and maintain a strong qualified pipeline.
Own opportunities from initial engagement through discovery, technical evaluation, business case, proposal, negotiation and contract signature.
Develop relationships across plant, fleet and corporate levels.
Turn successful initial deployments into broader plant, fleet or group-level opportunities.
Understand customers’ operational and business challenges and translate them into relevant Metroscope use cases.
Navigate long and complex decision processes involving technical teams, management, procurement, legal, IT and executive stakeholders.
Build compelling value propositions and business cases.
Lead commercial proposals and negotiations.
Develop champions while building access to decision-makers and economic buyers.
Maintain momentum across sales cycles that can extend over several months or longer.
Develop a strong understanding of Metroscope’s AI, Monitoring & Diagnostics and performance solutions.
Engage credibly with stakeholders across performance, reliability, maintenance, operations, engineering and digital.
Lead discovery discussions, technical workshops and executive presentations alongside Metroscope experts when appropriate.
Translate complex technical capabilities into operational and financial value.
Build structured account strategies covering stakeholders, existing deployments, white spaces, competitors, priorities and commercial opportunities.
Identify expansion opportunities across units, plants, fleets, subsidiaries and geographies.
Develop long-term relationships rather than transactional opportunities.
Work with Customer Success and Operations to transform demonstrated customer value into expansion.
Enterprise power-generation sales is a team sport.
You will work closely with Operations, Customer Success, Product, Marketing, technical experts and leadership to develop and win opportunities.
You will act as the conductor of the sales process, bringing together the right internal contributors, aligning technical and commercial expertise around the customer’s needs, and ensuring the opportunity moves forward with clarity, consistency and momentum.
Maintain accurate opportunities, account information, next steps and forecasts in HubSpot.
Develop clear account and opportunity strategies.
Maintain visibility on decision processes, stakeholders, competition, budget, procurement and timelines.
Provide realistic forecasts and actively manage deal risks.
Contribute market and customer intelligence to Metroscope’s broader commercial strategy.
Above all, we are looking for a senior professional capable of becoming a trusted commercial counterpart to sophisticated power-generation customers.
There are two natural routes into the position.
You have significant experience in enterprise sales, business development or strategic account management, ideally selling complex technical solutions into energy, utilities, heavy industry or another demanding B2B environment.
You know how to develop new business, navigate complex organizations, manage long sales cycles and engage both technical stakeholders and executives.
Power-generation experience is highly valuable but not mandatory.
What is mandatory is the ability and willingness to develop genuine technical credibility in the sector.
You have built meaningful professional experience in power generation, utilities, OEMs or adjacent industrial environments, potentially across operations, performance, maintenance, reliability, engineering, asset management, technical services or consulting.
You understand power plants and the people who operate them.
You may have worked for a utility, power producer, OEM, engineering company, technical consultancy or technology provider.
You have strong customer instincts, communicate naturally with different stakeholders and are interested in the business dimension behind technical decisions.
You now want to use that experience in a more commercial, entrepreneurial and customer-facing role.
You do not need to arrive as a trained salesperson.
But you must genuinely want to become one.
That means being willing to learn and apply disciplines such as prospecting, qualification, value selling, account planning, pipeline management, forecasting, negotiation and closing — and being open to coaching along the way.
In Both Cases, We Expect
Significant professional experience and the maturity to operate independently with major industrial customers.
Strong intellectual curiosity and learning agility.
The ability to understand complex technical and business environments.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
The ability to build trust with both engineers and senior executives.
Strong ownership and a bias toward action.
Resilience and persistence: enterprise power-generation sales cycles are demanding.
A structured and analytical approach to opportunities and accounts.
Comfort operating in an international and evolving environment.
Coachability and willingness to continuously improve your commercial approach.
Education & Languages
Master’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Business or another relevant discipline.
Fluent English is mandatory.
French, Spanish and/or other European languages are highly valuable depending on territory.
Travel
Regular travel should be expected for customer meetings, power-plant visits, industry events and partner meetings across Europe and occasionally internationally.
Recruitment Process
Stage 1 - Initial Screening and Assessment
📞 Call to confirm adequacy with the job, evaluate motivation and answer your questions with HR
Stage 2: In-Depth Interviews and Presentations
Conduct one or two rounds (might group stages) of technical interviews with hiring manager and senior stakeholders. It includes a sales-focused case study or presentation to assess the candidate’s strategic thinking, industry knowledge, and ability to pitch effectively.
Stage 3: Final Evaluation
Interview with the CRO - Charlotte
Interview with the CEO - Aurélien
All interviews don’t have to take place at the office (Paris Saint Lazare) but we expect you to come there at least once during the process.

Metroscope develops AI solutions to improve the performance and availability of power generation assets.
Its monitoring and diagnostics platform detects equipment faults, quantifies performance losses, and supports maintenance decisions. The technology combines physical simulation, machine learning, and Bayesian algorithms to build accurate digital representations of industrial systems — often referred to as digital twins.
With over 700 users worldwide, Metroscope equips more than 100 power plants, including the entire French nuclear fleet operated by EDF. In any given year, the platform identifies more than 2,000 unique faults, with 9 out of 10 detections confirmed.
Metroscope has helped EDF recover more than 100 MW of additional net power through AI-driven diagnostics. In 2025 alone, the platform detected 3 TWh of energy losses across 12 countries, helping operators improve efficiency and reliability.
Metroscope is a member of the EDF Group, with teams and offices in Paris, France, and Alexandria, Virginia.
