As we continue our rapid expansion across Europe, we are seeking a commercially driven and technically credible business development leader to accelerate growth, deepen strategic customer relationships, and support market expansion.

This is an in-Country role focused on data centre market expansion, municipality engagement, strategic partnerships in energy, academia and with local French companies, across one of the world’s fastest-growing digital infrastructure sectors.

 

The Opportunity

We are looking for a high-impact Business Development Manager for France to lead strategic commercial growth initiatives across the Country. This individual will combine industry relationships, French data centre market expertise, and strong commercial acumen to identify and secure new opportunities with DayOne Clients, enterprises, and strategic ecosystem partners.

The successful candidate will operate as both a market-facing commercial leader and a strategic advisor to the business — helping shape out DayOne’s French Market growth strategy, expansion priorities, and position DayOne as a trusted long-term infrastructure partner in the French data centre market.

This role requires a strong understanding of the French data centre landscape, including power-constrained areas, site and infrastructure dynamics, customer requirements, and emerging AI-driven demand trends.

 

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Lead business development and commercial growth initiatives across France.
  • Provide the support for the go-to-market strategies aligned with DayOne’s growth ambitions.
  • Identify, originate, and develop new opportunities with strategic partners.
  • Develop relationships with key utilities, government stakeholders, and ecosystem partners.
  • Support market entry strategies for France.

 

Country Leadership

  • Partner closely with internal delivery, operations, legal, finance, and external due diligence and development teams to ensure customer requirements can be operationally delivered.
  • Translate technical infrastructure capabilities into compelling commercial value propositions.
  • Support long-term account growth and strategic expansion planning with key customers.

Market Intelligence & Growth Strategy

  • Provide ongoing market intelligence on customer demand, competitive positioning, power availability, regulatory developments, and emerging infrastructure trends.
  • Advise leadership on strategic market opportunities, risks, and commercial priorities.
  • Support French market expansion strategy including customer demand validation and pipeline forecasting.
  • Monitor all data centre market developments shaping future capacity demand across France.

Reporting structure

  • Reporting to the SVP of Business Development EMEA.
  • Collaborate closely with the European Business development team, DayOne’s engineering, operations, and finance teams to align commercial commitments with delivery capability.
  • Support strategic local partnerships and ecosystem development across power, fibre, land, and infrastructure providers.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in business development.
  • Individual that is a self-starter as the initial presence in France.
  • An individual that will be part of the wider European Business Development Team, supporting the team on bids and at industry events
  • The role is based in mainland France, preferably in the Northern French regions.
  • French as primary language and must be fluent, (orally and written) in English.
  • Strong understanding of hyperscaler and large-scale infrastructure customer requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of French data centre markets, including power and infrastructure challenges.
  • Existing relationships across the data centre ecosystem.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial instincts and execution capability.
  • Executive presence with the ability to engage credibly at mayoral and Federal levels in France.
  • Ability to operate across both technical and commercial discussions.
  • Strong skills, in the preparation of presentations, reporting documents, in MS excel and word.
  • Highly collaborative with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous, and evolving environments.

Preferred background in one or more of the following areas would be highly advantageous:

  • Hyperscale or colocation data centres development or market expansion
  • AI infrastructure platforms
  • Fibre or network infrastructure
  • HV Power and utility engagement (Not PPA Experience)
