About the Role

Navan is seeking ambitious and highly motivated Associate Account Executives (AAEs) to partner closely with experienced Account Executives (AEs) throughout the entire sales cycle.

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to enterprise sales by supporting prospecting, opportunity development, stakeholder engagement, and deal execution. You'll learn directly from veteran sales professionals while developing the skills required to progress into a full Account Executive role.

As an AAE, you will play a critical role in generating new business by driving sales activity across early, middle, and late stages of the sales process.

Key Responsibilities

Early-Stage Sales Activities

Support pipeline generation and opportunity creation through proactive prospecting activities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct account and prospect research

  • Develop tailored email outreach campaigns

  • Execute outbound phone prospecting

  • Schedule and conduct discovery calls

  • Identify potential customer pain points and business needs

  • Log and track sales activities in CRM systems

  • Maintain accurate prospect records and engagement history


Mid-Stage Sales Activities

Assist Account Executives in progressing opportunities through qualification and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Map prospect organizational structures

  • Identify key stakeholders and decision-makers

  • Conduct targeted outreach campaigns

  • Gather competitive and organizational intelligence

  • Nurture relationships with relevant contacts

  • Participate in MEDDPICC qualification processes

  • Collaborate with AEs to develop account action plans

  • Support opportunity strategy and progression


Late-Stage Sales Activities

Help prepare opportunities for successful closure and customer onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating customer-facing presentations

  • Prepare internal deal review materials

  • Support business case development

  • Coordinate with Account Management teams

  • Collaborate with Launch and Implementation teams

  • Ensure smooth customer handoff after contract signature


Required Qualifications

Professional Experience

  • 2+ years of progressive experience in client-facing roles

  • Experience interacting with senior business stakeholders, including:

    • C-Suite Executives

    • Vice Presidents

    • Directors

    • Department Leaders


Sales & Business Skills

  • Ability to engage and communicate effectively with senior decision-makers

  • Strong relationship-building capabilities

Project Management

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
