Role Overview

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving new business growth within the hospitality sector, focusing on networking and connectivity solutions, including:

  • IP Networks

  • High-Speed Internet Access (HSIA)

  • IPTV Solutions

  • Casting Technologies

This is a highly proactive, customer-facing role focused on identifying and securing new business opportunities, managing a robust sales pipeline, and building long-term relationships with hospitality decision-makers.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales Execution

  • Identify, target, and acquire new customers within the hospitality industry.

  • Develop and execute structured business development plans and sales strategies.

  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.

  • Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.

  • Conduct proactive prospecting activities, including cold outreach and lead generation.

  • Drive the full sales cycle from opportunity identification to contract signature.


Customer Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hotel operators, hospitality groups, and key decision-makers.

  • Present solutions and conduct customer meetings both remotely and on-site.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor on networking infrastructure and hospitality technology solutions.

  • Provide market insights and strategic guidance to customers.

  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer and partner inquiries.


Commercial Management

  • Prepare, present, and follow up on:

    • Commercial proposals

    • Quotations

    • Tenders

    • Business cases

  • Lead contract negotiations and successfully close new business opportunities.

  • Ensure opportunities are commercially sound and aligned with company objectives.

  • Retain and expand existing customer accounts through renewals, service extensions, and upselling opportunities.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with technical, delivery, and commercial teams to ensure successful solution design and implementation.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline management processes.

  • Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and management reports.

  • Share best practices and contribute to overall team performance and success.


Market Intelligence & Industry Representation

  • Monitor market developments, industry trends, and competitor activity.

  • Gather customer feedback to support product and commercial strategy.

  • Represent Planet at:

    • Industry conferences

    • Trade shows

    • Networking events

    • Hospitality industry forums


Candidate Profile

Professional Experience

  • Strong experience in new business development and sales.

  • Ideally gained within:

    • Hospitality technology

    • Networking infrastructure

    • Telecommunications

    • IT solutions

    • Connectivity services

Experience selling solutions such as:

  • High-Speed Internet Access (HSIA)

  • IPTV

  • IP Networks

  • Hospitality Technology Platforms

is highly desirable.


Sales & Commercial Skills

  • Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.

  • Experience managing complex sales pipelines.

  • Strong business development and lead generation capabilities.

  • Ability to manage the complete sales cycle.

  • Experience negotiating commercial agreements and closing deals.


Industry Knowledge

  • Understanding of hotel operations and hospitality environments.

  • Familiarity with hospitality technology ecosystems.

  • Knowledge of networking and connectivity solutions within hospitality settings.


Communication & Relationship Management

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong presentation and consultative selling abilities.

  • Ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.

  • Effective relationship-building skills with customers, partners, and internal teams.


Organizational & Technical Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.

  • Proficient in CRM systems (such as Odoo).

  • Advanced user of:

    • Microsoft Excel

    • PowerPoint

    • Outlook

    • Sales reporting tools
