The Strategic Account Manager role is part of the Infectious Diseases Business Unit at Abbott Rapid Diagnostics S.A.S., France. Reporting to the Sales Manager for the Infectious Diseases division, this position combines direct sales responsibilities with strategic account development to accelerate growth and strengthen Abbott's market position in France.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities (Key Activities)
Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies and procedures.
Demonstrates commitment to the development, implementation and effectiveness of applicable Quality Processes
Responsible for exhibiting professional behaviour with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices.

Sales & Account Management
Promote, market, and manage sales of Infectious Diseases products to public and private sector clients.
Prospect and develop assigned accounts within your geographic territory.
Achieve revenue targets and propose annual action plans to the Sales Department.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers in your sector.
Collaborate with application, scientific, and marketing teams to support strategic accounts.
Oversee customer service activities including tenders, proposals, contract execution, and sales follow-up.
Provide user training and instrument installation when needed.
Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory procedures.
Deliver regular reporting and contribute to accurate sales forecasting
Strategic Account Development
Identify and engage priority accounts (e.g., APHP, central procurement groups).
Develop and manage multi-year account plans aligned with growth and adoption goals.
Negotiate strategic partnerships with key medical and administrative stakeholders.
Public Procurement & Tender Management
Lead complex procurement processes (MAPA, framework agreements, centralized purchasing).
Monitor regulatory changes and advise on their business impact.
Work closely with legal and market access teams to secure successful outcomes.
Integrated Solution Design
Create tailored offers combining diagnostics, services, digital tools, and connectivity.
Customize value propositions based on ROI, clinical efficiency, and budget constraints.
Introduce innovative contractual models (e.g., value-based procurement).
Institutional Engagement & Influence
Expand stakeholder network to include hospital executives, innovation leaders, procurement heads, and regional health agencies (ARS).
Develop insights into public health challenges and hospital reform trends.
Cross-Functional Project Leadership
Coordinate strategic projects across marketing, market access, key account management, and service support.
Ensure successful execution and follow-up of major installations and deployments.
Align client needs with Abbott's global solutions portfolio.
Market Intelligence & Strategic Input
Track diagnostic market trends, regulatory shifts, and competitive movements.
Provide actionable insights to refine commercial strategies and product development.
Leadership & Team Development
Serve as a commercial reference within the team by sharing best practices and leading internal training.
Support sales engineers in managing complex accounts and strategic initiatives
Education / Experience / Skills
Strong sales expertise
Demonstrated success in complex solution sales within diagnostics, medtech, or healthcare.
Deep understanding of hospital and institutional ecosystems.
Expertise in Key Account Management and high-level negotiation.
Strong grasp of public procurement frameworks.
Experience in cross-functional project environments.
Influential leadership, excellent communication, and a results-driven mindset.
Scientific higher education (type master in biology, biochemistry, etc.), expertise in biology and commerce appreciated
Good knowledge of the field of medical biology diagnostics
Experience in biology ("point of care") will be an important asset
Confirmed sales expertise in the field of medical devices or equipment
Strong ability to follow all Customer requests, from the most classic to the most complex
