This is a senior, high-trust mandate: you'd be the person ever entrusted with owning and growing this company's most valuable relationships, some of which have already been renewing for a decade. With churn at just 2%, these aren't fragile relationships to babysit; they're durable partnerships with real room to expand, and you'll have the autonomy to define how that growth gets managed, since no playbook exists yet. You'll report directly to the CCO, who is deliberately stepping back from account management to focus on new business, which is precisely why this seat needs someone senior enough to run it independently from day one.

Our client is a specialist in customs compliance and international trade technology. Built on more than two decades of hands-on customs consultancy experience, the company developed its own SaaS platform roughly ten years ago to help large international companies simplify and secure their customs operations. Today, the platform is used by major groups in food, manufacturing, retail/trading, and excise across 8 European countries, automating processes that traditionally required manual work, specialized brokers, and days of turnaround time. The company is now growing fast, expanding into new markets (with 12 countries targeted by 2027, including a move into the US), and building out its enterprise sales team to match that momentum, which is exactly why this role exists
🔍 About the job
This is a brand-new role. As the commercial leadership team shifts its own focus fully onto new business, someone needs to take full ownership of growing and retaining the accounts already on the books. That's you. Reporting directly to the CCO, you'll manage a portfolio of large, existing accounts, typically dedicated to one country, though you may follow a single strategic account across multiple countries as it expands.
Full ownership of a portfolio of named, strategic accounts. If one of your accounts expands into a new country, you follow it there; your book is defined by who your clients are, not where they are
No new-logo hunting: your mandate is to go deeper with the relationships you already have, not to open new ones
Manage and grow the company's largest existing accounts; upsell, renewal, and expansion within your named accounts
Build deep, trusted relationships with C-level, IT, and operational stakeholders inside each account, becoming indispensable to their operations, not just their vendor
Shape how enterprise account management gets done here, you're the first person in this role, defining the playbook from scratch
🎯 About the ideal candidate
5 to 15 years of experience managing large, complex accounts
A true relationship-builder, farmer mindset: you'd rather go deep with a portfolio of large accounts than chase new logos
Comfortable with long, multi-stakeholder cycles (12-18 months is normal here) and confident engaging C-level stakeholders directly
Strong analytical and numerical instincts, you build quantified growth cases, not just check-in calls
A builder's mindset: energized by defining process where none exists yet, not just following one
Fluent in English is required; Dutch is a strong plus
A track record managing high-value portfolios
